The company was established with the aim of developing machine tool accessories indigenously. Its first product was Optical Encoders, with technology transferred from Europe. For the first time, world-class encoders were available to Indian machine tool manufacturers and users at affordable prices. Thus, the journey began with the introduction of various encoders, including magnetic, rotary, and absolute types
Around 2008, EMS started manufacturing metrology Equipment. Height Gauge is the flagship product, still the highest-selling product in the domestic and international markets. Along with 21 variants of HGs, EMS now manufactures six different types of video measuring systems and five different types of Coordinate Measuring Machines.
2018, EMS started designing and manufacturing special-purpose machines (SPMs) for measurement and inspection applications. EMS is a proud supplier of SPMs to the Indian Defense Force, the Department of Nuclear Energy, the Indian Railways, the Steel and Mining Industry, and Medical Equipment Manufacturers.
In 2020, EMS diversified into Railways and launched indigenous automatic gauges to measure and inspect railway wheels and tracks. It continues to add more gauges, responding to other inspection needs in this vertical.
