The WBLC CNC Machinist Accelerated Hybrid Training offers a great opportunity to hire, train, or upskill junior employees into fully competent CNC Machinists. The program is offered at no cost to companies thanks to funding from the Government of Canada. The 12-week program combines on-site, hands-on training with online coursework and weekly virtual coaching from a WBLC instructor. In-house trainers participate in a Technical Trainers Effectiveness Workshop to efficiently transfer their knowledge and expertise to junior employees in a structured manner on your equipment with your product. Trainees receive a certificate after successfully completing a final practical exam. Companies are compensated up to $2,000 per trainee for the trainer's time. Professional recruitment services are included in the program at no additional cost.
Work Based Learning Consortium1235The Work Based Learning Consortium (WBLC) is a Canadian non-profit that helps industries develop skilled tradespeople. Since 2018, WBLC has graduated over 750 tradespeople in partnership with more than 80 Canadian companies. Participants in WBLC programs have a 92% completion and retention rate, compared to around 50% for other training methods. WBLC's hybrid model combines on-the-job training with online courses, allowing trainees to continue working while upskilling. This approach also enables senior employees to mentor junior staff, sharing their expertise using company equipment and materials.
